Humpty Dumpty Sat On The Wall, Professor Wagstaff Gets The Ball!

Hey, it's Back-To-School and Football Season!!

Well, OK, that may mean more to some people than to others.

But even if you're not a Fan, there's a bright side to everything!

Sometimes a VERY bright side!

Here's a topical WolfieToon  from "DISCIPLINE & DESIRE!"

So, spanking of, er, I mean, speaking of Backfield-To-School and Football, if you've never seen a Marx Brothers movie, I highly recommend "Horse Feathers."

If you have seen it, pop it in or call it up and watch it again.  Your day will improve exponentially.

What reminded me of that movie was a cheerleader picture I ran across that demanded I steal one of Groucho's "Horse Feathers" lines.

So I did.

Just remember, you can't-a come inna here unless you say, "Swordfish!"

  2. I got lost somewhere in the post. Maybe because I have never seen the Marx brothers I got stuck on the spankings.

    1. A you're not lost at all, Blondie! It's all for play! Stuck on spanking isn't a bad thing at all! Well, until hands and bottoms start to wear out, I guess.

I've always loved the Marxes! Their movies are playful nonsense that nevertheless has an internal logic, with lots of punnery and satire!

Better yet, I'll give you a coupla minutes so you can tell if it's your cuppa. Here's a clip in which Professor Wagstaff (Groucho) has invaded a Biology class with his two football recruits, Baravelli (Chico) and Pinky (Harpo.) They throw the instructor out and Groucho proceeds to teach the class-- THE CLASSROOM SCENE FROM "HORSE FEATHERS!"

  3. DW, I wasn't lost at all. Knew immediately the humpty dumpty line was from the football game in Horse Feathers. Have loved all things Marx - except Karl and his dopey manifesto - since I was a not so innocent teen. If I'm not mistaken there is a butt smack scene in Horse Feathers when Harpo smacks Thelma Todd's tushy with a wallpaper paste brush.

Hey Dave, why a duck? Why not a chicken?

Whatever it is, I'm against it!

    1. Well, Mike, there's deep water there. You try and cross it with a chicken, you'll find out why a duck!

No, I was only fooling. They're gonna build a tunnel there in the morning.

I bet you always get your man! Or woman, in this case!

  4. Also, wonderful WolfieToon! Whenever you can combine two of my favorite things - spanking and football - I am in heaven. Great work, DW.
