Somethin' Stupid, And Not By Frank And Nancy Sinatra

And now for something completely different...

A Circus Girl being spanked by her Elephant.

Now, you may ask, "What's the story here?!"  Well, that's for you to decide, and share below, if you'd like.  I can't always come up with everything around here, y'know.

Here's some musical accompaniment:

But the actual inspiration for this was viewing an episode of "The Hollywood Palace" from the 60's that's now on YouTube.   Who else would see a performing elephant and think of that cartoon?

In case you're "very" young, "The Hollywood Palace" was a variety show-- sort of Vaudeville for television-- in which each week, a different Big Star would host a show full of singers, dancers, comics, animal acts, people on top of eighty-foot poles, and more.

It's still pretty entertaining, so you should check it out on YouTube, especially because these old tapes include the original commercials for cigars, cigarettes, margarine, floor wax, and hair care products. (Holey Socks, I used "Groom 'N' Clean" in 7th grade!!  Then I switched to "Vitalis," then I desisted altogether..)

I suppose some Xmas 'Toons will be showing up here soon!

  1. Well, I don't know what she did to earn a trunk spanking performance, maybe she made fun of his paintings... But whatever it was, she's being reminded that elephants never forget!

    1. Perhaps-- besides belittling elephant art!-- she didn't believe Mr. Kipling's account of what a crocodile-stretched nose could be used for and required positive proof! Now her curiosity is less 'satiable.

      Thank you, mon cher!

  2. Different but very fun just the same Wolfie.

I am guessing that the unenthusiastic crowd was getting bored. Myrtle the Circus Girl was desperate and demanding a one leg handstand on that round step-stool. Ella the Elephant wasn’t having it. Myrtle threatened. Ella had enough and decided to give the crowd something to truely get excited about. Ella flipped Myrtle over, revealed her pink leopard (pink leopard; is there such a thing?) print panties to all and made better use of that step-stool. The crowd cheered!

    1. Thank you, Enzo! There IS a pink leopard, but Henry Mancini didn't get to finish his theme song.

Your story is splendid! As a seasoned entertainer (they put garlic in her hay) Ella knew well what would please the crowd, and rather than suffer a fool, made the fool suffer, in this case, Ms Myrtle!

Funny you chose those names, my 8th grade English teacher used them to explain the difference between the Passive Voice-- "Myrtle was spanked by Ella"-- and the Active Voice-- "Ella spanked Myrtle." At l;east that's how I remember it now.
