  1. Top o' the mornin' to you Wolfie! LOVED THIS! So much so.. that since my brain could never wrap itself around Lucky Charms .. nor could my mouth ever get to liking the funky feel of those marshmallows... I have always envisioned my leprechaun the poster child for this cereal...

  2. ROFL!! Cheers and applause!

Ah, and it's a clever lass y'are, Zelle!!

That's funnier than the original cartoon! Sugar SMACKS, indeed!

And you're right, those petrified "charming" blobs of sugar NEVER appealed to me, either, not even at age ten! In fact, there was another "cereal" someone had put out earlier that used similar horrible "marshmellow" additions, called "Twinkles."

It had a pink elephant on the box-- or, I don't remember, he coulda been blue or purple-- but the selling point of the stuff was that it had a "comic book" on the back of the box! You ran a thumbnail down the perforation and opened the cardboard to read the three-page adventure of Twinkles the elephant and his monkey pal (hm, he might have been purple, at that.)

So I begged Mom to buy the crap, and regretted it for weeks and weeks, because then I had to EAT the damn stuff, and the comic had already been read!

  3. Oh, Great Caesar's Ghost Writer!!

Look, here's Twinkles! And he's purpler than I remembered!

And here's one of the boxes!

Y'know, before I grew into an Ole Perv, story titles like "The Lion Who Loved Himself" didn't make me snicker. Or maybe it's the crowd I hang out with? Yeah.

  4. Thinking about it, maybe Twinkles didn't have the alleged marshmellow droppings, after all, but it was a repulsive chemical flavored batch of stuff. Maybe it was elephant twinkles.

  7. Hiya, Phil!

I don't know why the Interweb does that only sometimes, and not to everybody... but here is the link to the TV Acres page where lurks the Twinkling Androgynous Elephant!

  8. Wolfy, I love your cartoon but that may be because I LOVE Lucky Charms. Love Sugar Smacks(now called Honey Smacks) but hate to give the hubby any ideas over breakfast so I put them in a plastic cereal container.

  9. Thank you, Kaki! I hadn't thought about it, but "Honey Smacks" might indeed suggest something! The other company puts out "Golden Crisp," but maybe "crispy" might actually be worse. The plastic receptacle is probably your best bet, after all! Besides, I bet he already has an inspirational spoon...
