Just when you thought we'd escaped fairly well, Winter is socking us again. Good thing I have some warm socks.
My friend Charlie Tunasheart sent me a note with the following tale:
"I don't remember if I told you what my wife remarked about in the car during Winter.
She recalled a car commercial about one with a 'warmer' in the seat, and said, 'I'd like a warm seat.'
I just smiled at her!!!!!!!"
Gee, Charlie, you'd think the Mrs. woulda learned by now!! Well, for the two of you, here is an older Winter WolfieToon! (And the rest of you can look, too.)
The new cartoon is up now at "Discipline And Desire," along with five snippets of new stories and two full, free episodes from D&D books for you to enjoy: "The Long Arm of the Law" is from Celeste Jones's story stash, and you kin git awn out west with Brandy Golden to "Dusty's Ghost Town!"
Today is also Jules's birthday-- the delightful pixie from the UK you've seen around here from time to time who signs herself "Li'l Miss Naughty!"
Have an especially fine day, Jules! I hope you see my greeting here, because Yahoo keeps sending the e-notes back! Wotta buncha Yahoos! Or maybe I have your address wrong... Nah, I think it's the Yahoos!
Look, you got an LOLCat!!
aww I wasn't expecting this, thank you so much Wolfie, this made my day even better. i love the lol cat! :)
ReplyDeleteHi, Jules! I'm so glad you saw it! I hope your day has been filled with love, and more good stuff, like chocolates and love pats!!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, LMN.
ReplyDeleteWolfie, I love that snowman cartoon. I wonder if I have the nerve to duplicate it next time it snows? Nah..
Thank you, Kaki!!
ReplyDeleteAnd DO it, DO it!!
I will pay you a DOLLAR if you do!!!
Gosh, Dave, if you are going to pay me a WHOLE dollar how can I say no. *rolls eyes* I just gotta wait for the snow.
ReplyDeleteDave, I got a response that says I have to prove I am not a robot. Is that a way for you to con a girl into getting spanked? 'cuz I don't think robots can get spanked.
Oh, sorry, Kaki, that was a Typo. It's supposed to say "Prove you're not Robert," my former employer.
DeleteTHIS IS A PICTURE OF ROBERT.
You're most definitely not he.
I certainly hope not! (insert shock guy emoticon)
DeleteFunny picture, Wolfie.
Oh, my goodness! Naughty snow people!
ReplyDeleteWell, apparently one of them has been naughty . . . :-)
I love the look on Mrs. Snowman's face!
That's a great toon, DW! Thank you!
You're welcome, Larken! I think "Invasion of the Naughty Snow People" would make a dang fine movie! To watch with popcorn in pajamas! Or, if one prefers, with bananas in pajamas.
Deleteuh oh. I just noticed Frosty's hand is a switch!
ReplyDeleteYep. He's gonna stick it to her.
DeleteOh, DW,I don't think Kevin's going to get any sleep at all.
ReplyDeleteIt's his own fault - he's the one who turned the night light on. :-)
Somehow I don't think he'll mind...
I was confused for a second, Milady Larken, because I forgot that Kevin was the dude in the dark in the new WolfieToon at "Discipline and Desire!" (Sad, I know.)
DeleteBut, yes, "turned on" is the operative phrase!
Larken, if Frosty's hand is a switch does that mean Frosty gets a turn over Mrs. Frosty's lap? ;-)
ReplyDeleteR. O. F. L. M. A. O.
DeleteWell, Mrs. Frosty's hand is a switch, too... ;-)
ReplyDeleteNaw, Mrs. Frosty would be better off to leaf things as they are.
DeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE that snowman cartoon!!! Absolutely fabulous!!
ReplyDeletesarah
Wow, thank you, Sarah! It's gratifying to get another round of applause from an old cartoon some haven't seen! Glad you enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteExcellent snow people cartoon, DW. Reminds me of the classic Calvin and Hobbes snowmen comics. It still pains me that Bill Watterson ended C & H so prematurely.
ReplyDeleteLarken, the snowman has a switch for a hand! Oh, the humanity! If snowmen have humanity.
And don't forget that old saying: A switch to hind leaves lines.
Happy Birthday, Jules! Hope you had a warm bday spanking.
Watterson is a very interesting artist, indeed, Mike; I've read a lot on what he had to say about his work, the comics medium and the syndicates in general. And now that newspapers are dropping like stegosauruses, and possibly for the same reasons, it's even harder for new strips to get going and make dough!
DeleteI've also read about Watterson and from the very beginning he clashed with editors and syndicates. He broke many barriers and was actually more concerned with his artistic integrity than maximizing his C&H earning potential. He NEVER authorized any licensing of C&H images like on stuffed animals or other toys, which drove the profit-seekers crazy. So to this day if you see any C&H swag it was never authorized by the extremely reclusive Bill Watterson.
DeleteYup!
Delete("Brevity is the soul of wit." :-D )
Lol, great cartoon! That is a snowman setup that would make passers by do a double take!
ReplyDeleteYes, it is, Lea! Kaki said she was going to do it when it snowed, so if you live where it snows, send along the photo of your spanking-snow-people near the street, and the ensuing chaos, and I will post 'em rat cheer!!
Delete:-)
Oh, and thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the cartoon! I forgot to say that while I was imagining your snow-people!!
