Everybody Knows The Song, Few Remember Robert Burns Himself!

"Auld Lang Syne" used deliberately archaic language when the poem was new, but the sentiment itself remains always!  May your new year improve vastly upon the last, and may you toast everything and everyone that made you who you are, sharing the compassion born of your sorrows and the joy that makes life worthwhile!

I think the lovely lady in this week's WolfieToon at  "DISCIPLINE & DESIRE" is gonna want this ice, and not necessarily for the champagne.

Speaking of which...

Here's some auld advice that's appropriate-- if you're at a party and have the opportunity for hugging and kissing, keep BOTH  hands free in case you wanna add a loving grope and smack!

And here's a celebration from New Year's Eve 2007!  Phil "Overbarrel" thought it was hilarious that the guy in the back there is so hammered that he's spilling his drink down his front.  I'd take credit for that, but in truth... I just didn't draw it right!

I haven't done much here lately, but this blog just passed an anniversary that I'll address soon!  Meanwhile, enjoy the 'toons scattered here, all the way to the start, if you've patience to scroll and back-Blogger-- enjoy the new stories and snippets at "D & D"-- and enjoy your spankin' new year!

    1. And to you, dear woman and friend!

I forgot your quote!! For those who never saw it before, the first time I posted the cartoon with Wolfie asking for assistance pulling his cork, Erica's reply was, "I think you better yank your own cork, ya perv!!" ROFL

  2. I don't believe I've seen the "pop my cork" 'toon before. Naughty, naughty, naughty, Wolfie.

Wolfie doesn't look too happy in the last panel, is that because nobody would pop his cork? ;-)

Happy 2014 to you, Wofie. May your markers never run dry.

    1. Thanks Kaki Dear! May the year unfold with joy for you!

As to the last panel, that's Wolfie practicing his Spanking Posture and Scary Spanker Face!

Y'know, this could degenerate into the gossip, "Kaki told Wolfie not to pop his cork or he'd dry out his markers!!"

  4. Robert Burns did not write Auld Lang Syne. It was around long before he was born.

    1. I'm delighted to find someone that knows Burns at all here, John! He worked to preserve Scottish dialect and culture, and for simplicity's sake I give him full credit in the title!
