On My Way To Curmudgeonhood

Yes, I was born fifty-eight years ago today and have begun practicing for all the Ol' Coot Roles:

Curmudgeons are a vital and valuable part of Society,

and although one doesn't have to be a Geezer to be a Curmudgeon,

it tends to be more common.

So now I'll do Character Roles,

but in my heart I still play the Lead.

I'm sure every Imp thinks of me that way, too, yes?

Well, then, I wonder how they do view me?

(Those, by the way, are 'toons Brandy Golden asked me to do for the Western-themed Yahoo Group "Bratsville, Spankville County" a bunch of years ago.)

So, all right, I'll play the Crusty But Lovable Ol' Coot you encounter out and about.

Watch yourself.

  2. Happy birthday, Wolfie. Of course we still see you as the handsome leading man; or maybe the soft and cuddly teddy bear, OK how about a little of each.

I love the toon of the girl sticking her tongue out. hahaha

I would volunteer to take your birthday spanking, Wolfie, if we turn the clock back about twenty years. ;-) I hope you have the bestest birthday every. Big hugs and tummy rubs.

    1. Thank you, Kaki! Why, what a sweet offer, I'll accept! But, oh no, we shouldn't mess with the clock, it would pollute the Time Stream and ruin History, wink, wink!

  3. Happy Birthday, DW! Hope you have a fantastic day. Love your western themed drawings. That first old codger reminds me of one of the best character actors ever, Walter Brennan. I especially enjoyed your WolfieToon of the naughty imp with too many items in the express lane. Haven't we all wished that on any person violating that supermarket rule.

As dictated by Top Logic that an imp receives your birthday whacks I hereby volunteer Miss Season to go over your lap. I hope she is among many imps taking that trip today. :-)
It is debatable whether or not you are entering curmudgeonhood, but you will always be a rascally carefree boy at heart.

    1. Many thanks, Mike!

Yep, I had Walter in mind, especially his Gabby Hayes-esque character in "Rio Bravo," except he took his choppers out for that movie role.

I welcome Ms Season heartily! But does she know what you really had in mind announcing that vacation to Lapland? Isn't that the silliest question ever?

    58 hardly qualifies for curmudgeinhood.

Anyways, loved the pic of the brat in the Express Lane - well done.
