When I was fourteen, I visited a family friend's house in which there actually was a paddle hanging on the kitchen wall with a funny little rhyme printed on it listing all its uses! The only one I remember is "for naughty brides who burn the toast." For burning the toast?? Toasted for over-toasting! The girls will say that's "Top Logic!"
