That had been the "splash page" for Sensation Comics #31, published in the summer of 1944, for the story "Grown-Down Land!"
I decided to see what it would look like if WW was wearing more abbreviated briefs, 1960's style, with more curves showing!
The art was by Harry G. Peter (I know, I know, shut up) with the writing from William Moulton Marston. In case you've ever been curious about the story, "Comic Vine" gives this synopsis:
Wonder Woman saves the Modern kids from their parents (because they don't like children), and when the kids don't wake up from sleeping, the Amazon Princess joins the kids in sleep and enters the kids’ dreamworld, called Grow-Down Land. Here Wonder Woman eventually helps bring the Modern family together by showing the parents how to act like children.
That's pretty typical Marston!
Nice job Dave . WW was always very spankable and your version does her justice. Personally I would gave drawn her with a thong , but perhaps that would be going a tad too far?
ReplyDeleteNot long ago, some artists DID draw her in a thongish costume, Glen'! I've never much cared for thongs, myself; if that much is already uncovered, what's the point of having that strip? But my proclivities were formed in an earlier time! Anyway, I;'m glad you found this manipulation amusing, I was considering dropping it off here for being dumb! :-D
DeleteDamn - my comment was lost. I just wanted to say your alteration really hit the spot for those of us who remember WW's sexy star-spangled panties as ideal for spanking. And I also hate thongs and would much rather have the spankee wearing regular panties or, of course, nothing at all. But no thongs!
