Tink Redux!

What kind of ducks?  Are they in a row?

I had done this 'toon years and years ago, but now it's a little better drawn and more "on model!"

  1. My question is how do you spank such a tiny little bottom Dave?
Looks like someone did a good job though!

    1. :-D Well, Glen', some things are just worth the extra care and effort!!

Funny you mention that, though, because the first time I saw Tinker Bell's cute little bottom on display, peeking out from under her short fairy tunic, it was at least twenty-five feet high on the movie theater screen for the 1970 rerelease of Disney's "Peter Pan!"

And combine that with the fact that I was a fourteen-year-old lad with raging hormones!! Can you imagine?! When Peter started patting her pretty little po-po for pixie dust, I was about to plotz!!

    1. Tinker Bell has always been a very emotive little gal, Minielle!

Thank you, yes, while studying the model sheets and movie stills, I noticed how they took the shapeliest aspects of some butterfly and dragonfly wings, and tried to capture that!

Speaking of models, there is an entertaining interview on YouTube with Margaret Kerry, the dancer-actress who was the live model for Tink, and one of the "Peter Pan" mermaids, for lead animator Marc Davis and his Disney team! Actually, there are several, but
      HERE'S THE LINK TO ONE!

    2. Goodness, that was awesome to watch! She is quite sassy, engaging and very proud of her accomplishments. I loved seeing how they projected her shadow on the wall. My mind pictured all those Disney artists drawing away! Thanks.
Btw I now appreciate your ‘redux’ even more!

    3. Glad you enjoyed it, Minielle! Margaret's a pistol, for sure, and I recommend her book, "Tinker Bell Talks!"

She tells wonderful stories about her movie days, including one she made with Eddie Cantor and Joan Davis, lots about her Disney experience, and her TV days, which included "The Lone Ranger," "Andy Griffith," The Three Stooges, plus voice and LIP acting in the "Clutch Cargo" and "Space Angel" cartoons!

You can find her book at the library, or at Amazon, or any on-line bookstore!

Oh, and I also had some pics of Margaret back at THIS WOLFIE BLOG ENTRY!
