  1. Dave;

    This was a great series and funny as hell!! Your "Famous Monsters of Filmland" edition also played back many pleasant memories. A tip of the jug as a toast to the late Forrest Ackerman and an apology for not commenting more often. Your toons are always appreciated.
    On a side note, how is Phil?

    Thanks

    Rick

    1. Hiya, Rick!

      Thank you very much! I see we share the same heart. Maybe one Dwight Frye went to fetch.

      Good Ol' Uncle Forry! When they were deciding how "FM" should be put together, James Warren agreed that all the behind-the-camera stuff would fascinate, but knew what would sell to their target audience. Sitting on the other side of the table from Mr. Ackerman, he said, "OK, I'm a 12 year-old boy. Make me laugh!" Maybe I picked up on some of that?

      Any comments are welcome any time, Wolfie, thanks!

      The ALS is slowly but inexorably taking its toll. Phil's humor and spirit are still thriving.

  2. I remember how terrified I was of the old scary Frankenstein movies…. But love, love, love these! Spanking her but off is hysterical!

    1. There have been a lot of them, Minielle! Which ones gave you the chills, I wonder? The Universal pictures,
      the ones from Hammer, or the later efforts? Each group has made some really good ones, and then, some they shoulda saved the film on! :-D

      Y'know, I've always wondered what it was like for moviegoers in 1931 to see that face up on the big screen for the first time! Ninety years later, there's no escaping the iconic and forever fascinating Karloff-Pierce-Whale version of the Monster!

      Thank you, I'm glad these gave you delight! The Bride losing her seat was the first Frankenstein WolfieToon I did, in October of 2005, and it's still a favorite of mine! I did it with ink and pencil right on the Bristol paper, and lettered it on the computer!
