Interlude: Shakespearean Spanking!
Speaking of the Bard~!
There was a dumb rhyme we used to say as kids: "Shakespeare! Kick in in the rear!"
"That he's mad, 'tis true, 'tis true 'tis pity...?" :-D I recall, Glen', in 8th grade, pouring through my mom's copy of the Shakespeare plays, trying to find the non-existent spanking scene in "Shrew!" One of the wonderful things about William's work is all the valid interpretations his plays will hold! I have seen spanking included in some, even sans "stage directions!"
It can be made to be really dull, Jenny-- but song lyrics are poetry, and limericks, and large parts of Lewis Carroll's "Alice" stories. I tend to be insensitive to a lot of poetry myself, that is, a lot of it that apparently lifts some people into rapture effects me not at all! But there are bits I do enjoy a lot! But I thought the talk about a custom that would be better left off than done would be pretty funny recited by our OTK birthday girl!
Verily, Fondles, that is so!! (Breaking into song) Brush! Up! Your Shakespeare! Start quoting him now! Brush! Up! Your Shakespeare! And the women you will wow!
Shakespeare would be a lot more fun if there were more spankings....even the Taming of the Shrew didn't really have one!
