Cheers!
I hope your winter days and holidays will be warmed with the love of friends and family!
Maybe some lovely and loving fannies will be warmed, too.
*Now, for you Grammarians who choked on your hot chocolate reading the title, I'll explain that I used the older correct spelling.
As recently as 1937 (as Time goes, that's recent), the Dictionary showed the accurate form of more than one "dwarf" as "dwarfs," which can be verified by the Disney movie title, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs."
That same year, University of Oxford Philology professor J.R.R. Tolkien explained in his introduction to "The Hobbit" that although "elfs" was the proper plural of "elf," he used "Elves" (and "Dwarves") to distinguish his ancient peoples of Middle Earth from any others.
My naughty little Arctic Imps are not of that distinguished lineage. Therefore, I use "Elfs!"
Say, what's that cracking noise, carrying so far in the ice-cold air up here?

Well! You don't suppose that any of these Elfs are a trifle kinky??
Mmm, could beeeee~!!
It's a good thing Paddle Cat has come to visit Jolly Old with his invaluable advice!

Well done. You have talent.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, CEM!
DeleteI always enjoy coming to your blog for your Christmas offerings, but I do have a question. What the hell is G.I. Joe up to in the workshop drawing? 😂😂
ReplyDeleteLaughing my head off!! Thank you, Rich, I was hoping somebody would notice that!! The unreasonable facsimiles of Barbie and G.I. Joe are sharing holiday joy as I'm sure they have in many homes behind closed doors through the decades. It's in the spirit of good ol' Will Elder; he and the other MAD magazine cartoonists of yore used to pack every panel they could with tiny little extra gags that Will called "chicken fat!"
DeleteBy the way, I know you respectfully prefer to provide links, but you certainly have my blessing if you ever care to repost any WolfieToons on your blog!
As red as Santa's coat!
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas!
B :)
Thank you, MS B, and unto you!
