Frankly, this face says it all!

Oh, well, I guess it doesn't say it all-- because there are five new stories for members at "Discipline and Desire" this week, and three of 'em are in a Halloween vein!  

(Vein!  Halloween!  That's, I say, that's a JOKE, son!!  Pay attention!!)

Speaking of spanking and mummies, here's some Wolfie Movie Tie-In Trivia!

The first (and best) mummy film was the one with Karloff in 1932--

and it was directed by Karl Freund! 

Freund was a cinematographer of renown-- and you've seen his art even if you don't know his name!

Freund's movie work includes the famous silent movie "Metropolis"-- 

1931's "Dracula" with Bela Lugosi-- 

"The Good Earth," for which Freund won an Oscar for his photography-- 

"Key Largo" (Bogie and Bacall fans take note!)--

"The Thin Man Goes Home"-- (Aha!)--

And many, many more!  

Then Desi Arnaz persuaded Karl to become the chief cinematographer for "I Love Lucy"--

 during which he designed the lighting and perfected the three-camera technique that sitcoms are still using now!

By the way, if you're tired of the same ol' Halloween fare, I heartily recommend Karl Freund's movie "Mad Love!" 

It's highly entertaining, creepy, and funny! 

It was Peter Lorre's first film in America, and he's unforgettable as Dr. Gogol!  Colin Clive-- Henry Frankenstein in the Karloff film-- plays concert pianist Orlac, whose crushed hands are replaced with those from a knife-throwing murderer!  Feisty heroine Frances Drake is his wife, who stars in stage horror shows!  And the American reporter with the snappy comic-relief patter is Ted Healey-- whose former stooges were Larry, Curly, and Moe!    You oughta be able to dig it up somewhere!

That's the Spirit!

And what will Wolfies wear?

The first one on screen had a jaunty cap and overcoat-- Henry Hull in "The Werewolf of London!" (1935)

I actually have similar caps!

A few years later-- 1941, to be nerdily exact-- Lon Chaney the Younger established that wolfmen wore shirts with the top button done and matching pants.

(This was the fashion that the "two" werewolves of "Dark Shadows" sported in the 60's!)

Hammer Films in the UK started remaking the monster favorites, and in 1961,  came up with "Curse of the Werewolf," putting Oliver Reed in a pirate shirt and tight black pants.  And, er, boots.  Hm.

That, by the way, is possibly the most boring of all werewolf movies.  Great makeup, sorry plot, and the werewolf doesn't show up until the last five minutes of the movie, to run along the rooftops of a Spanish village and then get killed.  I will conceed that Oliver could be scary enough without makeup.

In the early 60's, Aurora Plastics came out with the Monster Model kits.  The cover painting for the Wolf Man looked more like the Hammer version than the Universal version--

but the actual model was closer to what makeup man Jack Pierce inflicted upon Lon Chaney, Jr, except that this fella was shirtless, and more buff.  ("Buffer?")

(Yes, I built and proudly displayed all three of those;  In fact, I did Dracula and the Wolf Man twice.  My paint jobs were not nearly so professional.  And the plastic glue was really stinky, and I never understood the appeal for the kids who deliberately snorted the fumes in a bag to feel sick and dizzy.)

Nowadays, a lot of the movie werewolves go in the altogether.  

However, back when we were at Arild's Movie Spanking Yahoo Group, I did a werewolfie still interested in fashion:

And later, at the Southern California Spanked Wives Club on MSN,  Wolfie went to the UK!

Yes, I know that's not proper caning technique, and I learned better color-shading techniques later, but this cartoon still appeals to me.  And quoting Springrose, "I like the rump on that girl!"

Name That 'Toon! And Other Fun!

To celebrate the start of October, I'm going to steal a bit from Hermione and see if anyone wants to supply a line for this Old Halloween "D&D" WolfieToon! 

Speaking of "Discipline and Desire", this week's update has a boatload of goodies for you-- maybe even a shipload!!

Bears, Repeating (And one that isn't!)

Lea compared Tops and Bears in this post on her blog, and Kaki and Larken brought up Smokey the Bear-- I mean, they alluded to him, not that they raised him from a cub-- which reminded me of spanking bares, er, bears in general, and this cartoon in particular:

Springrose and I did that for Arild's Yahoo Group after she told me about a woman, an Arizona forest ranger, who had somehow started a conflagration out there! 

Now, forest ranger bear spanking also took place at the end of the Tex Avery MGM cartoon "Red Hot Rangers," after George had been kicking Junior's butt around all through the picture and then nearly started a new fire himself:

Yeah, yeah, I know-- "M/m," as they say-- but still, it got my attention as a kid!  For some sad reason Tex never had any of his red hot dames getting spanked, although both Wolfy and Droopy ran off with Cowgirl Red in "Wild and Woolfy!"

Back to the bears;  there was a kids' book that came out in 1957 (when I was a year old) called "The Lonely Doll" by Dare Wright, although I'd never heard about it until I stumbled across it at this entry by Zille on her blog "Zille Defeu's Fetish Fantasies."

Now there are any number of us who were trying to explore this thing we do at a very early age  with our dolls and action figures, as I mentioned previously:

Hey, look, they were inspired by the Wright book!  

Oh, by the way, to explain the difference between "dolls" and "action figures"--

Now once we was all growed up and started mixing drinks, a recipe for "Sting In The Tail" came with this sculptured pair:
