Wolfie Warm Ups!

Not to be confused with a sweat suit.  Or maybe you thought of THIS warm up:

But what I'm really talking about are doodles, preliminary sketches, and stuff I do when I need a break so that I don't break something.  Here, for example, is a quick page in tribute to one of my cartoonist heroes, Marie Severin!

Here are some "life sketches" of spankable girls:

You remember the fairy being dragged off by the leprechaun?

They were the "secondary" couple in a St Pat's WolfieToon at "Discipline And Desire."  Here's the first sketch, and there is a quality I like.

Another D&D cartoon featured the One-Eyed, One-Horned Flying Purple People Spanker.  Here are the Purple People Spanker Preliminaries:

And here is the final version;  you may have seen this one at Devlin O'Neill's Web Log (And Poppy's, Too!)

  6. Dear Dave, What a variety, wow, as always checking in on your blog makes my day, thanks for the laughs, and being a really big sci-fi fan the spanking aliens are the best, thank you, your friend BOB

  7. I'm always interested in getting a peek inside an artist's sketchbook, and yours certainly did not disappoint. I also caught the literary allusion to "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream" you sly dog - er, I mean wolf!

  8. Appreciate it, Bob! Any time I can cause chucklage, it counts as a great day! I think all of us raised up with the Space Race will always have a fondness for what the pretentious are now calling "speculative fiction!" :-D

    Hi, Web-Ed!

I'll have to get back over to CSR and other neglected forums; Phil says he's getting quite a web-education there about the funnybook biz and its history! :-D

Glad you noticed that little quip! It actually was an allusion to an allusion, stolen from John Byrne's parody for one of his "She-Hulk" stories!

And to dispell the "Huh?!" factor for everyone else, I recommend the harrowing and timely short story W.E mentioned, Harlan Ellison's "I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream." Read it with the lights on.

Well, I guess you would hve to have SOME light on, eh?

  9. Hey DW, I always figured you for a doodler. Starting early as a hormone infused adolescent I bet you doodled in your bedroom, doodled in every other room in the house when your parents weren't around, even doodled in school. You were a masterdoodler and doodled until your hand cramped. And I bet you drew a lot also. ;)

Seriously, no really, seriously, you are an amazingly talented artist whose humor matches your drawing ability, and that puts you in unique company. I find myself envious - in a good comradely way - and wish I had ⅛ of 1 percent of your drawing ability. I can't even draw stickmen. Makes it very hard to play Hangman. :(

Also, loved your Cinco de Mayo Wolfietoon on the D&D site. More of your outstanding work.

Finally, sorry about my absence as of late, Dave. Just everyday life taking up too much of my time.

  10. I love the idea of a woman in your life just doing her thing and getting sketched in those provocative poses- perfect.
I also love the idea that it is what you see- your world is kind of cute, isn't it?

  12. Hiya, Mike! Don't give it a thought, I have barely been on my own blog here! Gracias, and yes, I doodle in the morning, doodled in the evening, doodled at suppertime...

Thank you, Poppy! Yes, all of you make the WolfieWorld scenery the best there is!

Your grins are worth a million, Raven, merci beaucoup!!

  15. Hi Wolfy, I really like your sketches, life sketches of girls, they are very good. You seem to have a lot of experience to be able to remember all those details, or did you lure some unsuspecting girl with that bit toothy grin?

  16. Yes, Kaki, it's the big toothy grin! :-D Like that. And thank you very much, you're a doll!
