Mr. O'Neill, Hail and Farewell

I am very sad tonight.  A very fine and funny man has died, my friend Devlin O'Neill.

Dev's intelligence and creative wit illuminated many a drab corner, and shored up many a shipwrecked victim.  He was a damn decent human being, the sort this tried and tired world can hardly afford to lose.

It might seem strange to anyone outside "our circle" that the author of so much intense romantic spanking fiction and the star of several kinky Shadow Lane videos would be really be so loving and gentle, but there's no paradox.  His masculine strength and sense of play easily won the hearts of all of his female fans, who gave him the affectionate nickname "Uncle Dev."

To be honest, some of his sexual fantasy runs into extremities that don't really appeal to me, but there is a lot that I do enjoy, especially his parodies.  Look over his list of books HERE!

He certainly earned our respect.  At one point in his career, Devlin served in the Military, another example of his sense of duty and honor.  He was a man of strong convictions, but I never saw him rant hysterically.  As an example, he did urge everyone in our last election to "choose decency over depravity, charity over avarice, democracy over fascism, honor and respect over four horrifying years of daily humiliation upon the world stage."

Dev had just turned seventy.  You may have seen his reply to my birthday greeting two posts ago:  "This is my big Seven-Oh, so I've made the three-score and ten marker the ancients talk about.  Everything from here on out is just frosting on the cake. ;-) "

I knew he was very quietly and courageously fighting cancer, but I didn't know it was about to take him.  And I hope I'm not offending his wishes or his loved ones with that "revelation."

Dev loved Bogart and Marx Brothers movies, Shakespeare plays, and Mark Twain's prose, claiming (facetiously, I think) that he shamelessly stole from the best sources.  This weekend I will see a local production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream," and think of him.

He often called me "DeeDubya,"

I shall miss him very much.

And thank you, Audrey, for the pictures, and your love for us.

(This is Audrey's Notice.)

Wolfie Warm Ups!

Not to be confused with a sweat suit.  Or maybe you thought of THIS warm up:

But what I'm really talking about are doodles, preliminary sketches, and stuff I do when I need a break so that I don't break something.  Here, for example, is a quick page in tribute to one of my cartoonist heroes, Marie Severin!

Here are some "life sketches" of spankable girls:

You remember the fairy being dragged off by the leprechaun?

They were the "secondary" couple in a St Pat's WolfieToon at "Discipline And Desire."  Here's the first sketch, and there is a quality I like.

Another D&D cartoon featured the One-Eyed, One-Horned Flying Purple People Spanker.  Here are the Purple People Spanker Preliminaries:

And here is the final version;  you may have seen this one at Devlin O'Neill's Web Log (And Poppy's, Too!)

Verily, thou shouldst view yon posting!

In case you haven't seen it already, click on over to this post on Chross's blog!  It's a "preview" for a German production of "The Merchant of Venice" that included a (F/f) spanking scene, and it's the cutest damn thing I've seen all week!

Now, having really only a smackering, er, a smattering of Shakespeare, I don't know for sure who these two would be-- Portia and her handmaid Nerissa, perhaps??-- or how they would work in a spanking scene!  However, I've sent a note to good Professor Devlin O'Neill hoping he might elucidate, and, when he's through with that, tell us what the heck might be going on.

Dev has proposed amended spanking versions of various Shakespearean works, but I don't think he had gotten to this play yet?  But if so, they owe him some dough!!

Pastiche!

Greetings, Class!

And, what th' heck, Greetings, No Class, too!

If you don't use the word pastiche regularly, Merriam-Webster says it's "a literary, artistic, musical, or architectural work that imitates the style of previous work; also such stylistic imitation."

For example, as an unofficial Baker Street Irregular, I can tell you with some authority that Mr. Devlin O'Neill has written one of the finest imitations of Arthur Conan Doyle ever, and-- I bet my furry tail--  the only Sherlock Holmes spanking story "The Curious Case of the Woman in the Red Drawers!"  You fellow Holmes fans and/or spankophiles will be tremendously titillated by the tale!  If you're neither, well, here's an opportunity to expand your horizons.

So here now are the cartoon pastiches I've done over the years.  These have been around the InterWeb, but not all gathered together in one convenient, ready-to-click-and-save place.

To start, here is what Max Fleischer and company missed doing in the 30's with Betty Boop!

There's a man in the funny papers you all know... well, at least, MY Generation did!  V.T. Hamlin's "Alley Oop!"

Uncle Walt's cartoons had spankin'-- but. well, not in THIS context!

(I may have that one up on this blog already... but since Little Miss Naughty likes it, and apparently lots of others, there it is for completion's sake.)

Naturally, cartoons are different these days... I did this one for the "Southern California Spanked Wives (And Girlfriends) Club" and the source (namely, Seth MacFarlane) proceeded to go wayyyyy beyond my pitiful parody of "Family Guy!"

Back to the funny papers, and the Wolfierization of Mort Walker's family strip "Hi and Lois!"

Oh, yeah, there's another family strip still running, created toward the end of the Flapper Era by Chic Young.  I've seen various bare-bottomed and colorized versions of this around the Web-- Hee!! -- but here's the original "Blondie" I did for "Arild's Cartoon Spanking Yahoo Group"--

Naturally, I've done some superheroes, but had no one particular artist in mind at the time.  This one might have just a touch of Bruce Timm (if that), who's been doing the DC characters for Warners Animation.

I can now see several flaws in this one I did for SCSWC, but if you can't, I won't point 'em out.  HA!!

A cartoonier version;  I still like the attitudes!

Again, with a slight influence from Mr. Timm, another SCSWC sketch:

Erica Scott has mentioned the Kids' Comics she read that had spankings;  I altered this panel from a "Little Audrey" story to be more appealing:

And I'll stop with that Baker's Dozen!

P.S.-- Aren't you glad the frakin' Christmas commercials that started on Hallo-goldang-ween are OVER?!!

But this week you can get a jump on Ground Hog's Day!  Or maybe Valentine's... the WolfieToons Book Sale continues to January 1st!  Details, and no spam or pop-ups, not even pop tarts, when you click the blue letters!

Erica Scott and Devlin O'Neill star in "The Singing Teacher!"

Okay, that pic's actually from "STAND CORRECTED!"

(Singing) You Made Me Blog Here! I Didn't Wanna Do It! I Didn't Wanna Do It!

Well, okay, maybe I did.

Grrrrreetin's!

Since MySpaz is performing a passive-aggressive suicide, and I enjoy commenting on Erica Scott's blog, and Ye Editor of the outstanding story site (and home of  the weekly WolfieToons), "Discipline And Desire" thought I oughta have one, here is the spankin' new Wolfie Blog.

Will there be stuff on here you haven't seen anywhere else, like on Chross's  Spanking Scouts Forum, or one of my favorite new sites, Spanking Panels, or the very kind reviews I've had from Dave's Cherry Red Report, the Chicago Spanking Review, and Devlin O'Neill's weblog?

Heck if I know, Beany.

I may grab some of the better stuff from the WolfieSpaz page if I can get the frakin' thing to stop freezing up my computer.  At some point I do want to feature Overbarrel's hilarious Poser Pics, and, make a salute to the other artists I had met on the long-gone Arild's Cartoon Spanking Yahoo Group, like Endart, Boom, Dan Rivera, Darth, and others!

So we'll see (singing again) As Time Goes Byyyy!
